What is Breast Reduction surgery, how is it done, what should be considered?

Breast reduction surgery is a surgical procedure to correct breast size and shape. It is generally a preferred operation among women with large and heavy breast tissue. Breast reduction surgery reshapes breast tissue and skin. It raises the nipple and reduces breast size. This procedure can be performed for aesthetic reasons, as well as to alleviate back pain, neck pain and skin problems caused by breast weight. Breast reduction surgery usually includes these steps: Anesthesia: It is usually done under general anesthesia so patients sleep and feel no pain. Making incisions: During the surgery, incisions are made to reshape the breast tissue and skin. The size and shape of the incisions may vary depending on the patient's breast size and intended post-operative appearance. Reshaping breast tissue: The surgeon removes excess fat, tissue, and skin needed to reshape the breast tissue to the proper size and shape. The nipple can also be raised as needed. Skin closure: After reshaping the breast tissue, the skin incisions are closed with sutures. Stitches are usually self-dissolving stitches, so they do not need to be removed later.
